See, I knew I should have changed my pick and went with Florida. Oh well.
You know, even though I slept incredibly well last night, I still could have used about another hour this morning. Oh well, at least I’m not terribly tired. Could have been because I fell asleep well before 10:30. Who knows but I enjoyed it.
Even though I had part of a strange random dream that had me babysitting the cute mini-John Legend boy from church and sneaking him chocolate chip cookies. Maybe that’s why he let me hold him. Huh.
He came to church yesterday and you could just tell that he could not be bothered by the world. His mom just sighed when I mentioned that, not knowing why or how he could have woken up in that kind of a mood and that it’s so frustrating it wasn’t even cute anymore. I assisted Lindsey with Sunday School and we had a packed class, another 10 kids added to the mix. We spent the last half of class rehearsing the kids’ part for our Resurrection Sunday [Easter] program. They were good until we handed them their palm fronds…that’s when we lost them. Though we should have known that would happen when Lindsey and I started hitting each other with them when Sister May brought them to us that morning [before the kids were in class].
Anyway, there this new kid in class and I have a strong feeling he’s been home schooled for the majority of his short life. Sometimes you just know. Maybe I’m wrong and maybe he’s just socially awkward [and a bit of a fibber. I mean, how can you tell me what your script said when I’m holding it?] but let it be known that he can be a handful. Just trying to get him to stop talking long enough so you can get a point across is hard enough. In general, getting 7 to 10 year olds to get to the point is hard enough.
Afterwards, I took a quick nap before meeting Jacki at the Vacaville outlets for a little shopping and dinner. We did some shopping and she helped me find a cute dress [actually two] to wear to the bf’s graduation and I’m very pleased with it. It’s a cute red and tan/ivory polka dot dress that just flows and floats around my body. It’s lovely. I can’t wait to wear it. Plus I got a coupon for $5 dollars off my next purchase so I may just go back and get that other dress too. I need to stop spending money. Actually, all I need is a nice cardigan sweater to go with my dress and I’m good to go. We’ve just been so busy lately with work and life that we hadn’t had time to hang out [I last saw her last month!] but it’s always nice to get together. I’ll be heading up to Sacramento next Sunday to help her put her wedding invites together. I still can’t believe she’s getting married.
And I’m so glad to know that I’ll have all morning to get ready before her wedding. She knows I mean goof off.
Saturday was real lax. I went to the commissary with my mom and surprisingly didn’t load up on stuff. I ate some nasty cheese [I don’t know what it was exactly but it was gross…I had to eat some ham and pineapple just to get that taste out of my mouth]. We had our usual fun time out. We overheard this girl telling her mom that she “could just die.” Not to her mom, but of herself. She was all dramatic like she was just embarrassed by something and kept saying, “I could just die mom. I could just die,” as she sat in the grocery cart. I think she was like four.
Afterwards we went on the prowl for Girl Scout cookies and I finally found them at Raley’s. Anywho, as I was driving to Michael’s and Cost Plus, I was listening to Wild 94.9 and 106 KMEL, which I rarely listen to, and was pleased to hear some, I guess, “old school” hip hop. I mean, come on, who doesn’t love “Cold Rock a Party [Bad Boy remix]?” I was rapping along with that. I’ve got to download to for my iPod.
Cuz I rock the party…that rocks your body.
Later that night, I hurriedly tried to fit in washing and blow drying my hair and making fudge before my date with the bf and failed. I had to ask for 45 minutes. Actually, I asked for 30 and then an additional 15. Then the bf got caught up with some family stuff so we didn’t get our date started until about 9ish that evening. We watched Cars and I really did like it. He even laughed out loud at parts so I knew he liked it. I did enjoy picking out the voices of the Morning Show [I heard 3 out of 5 of them] and I honestly would buy that movie. Maybe I will. I’m excited to see I’m getting Borat next. That’s nice. I really like Pixar movies. The only one I’ve been disappointed by was the Incredibles, which was just incredibly too long. Okay, by maybe only 20-30 minutes but still. We both called different parts of the movie becoming relevant later and that still didn’t take away from the film. And I loved that the bugs were VW Bugs. And that the Guvernator was an SUV. And the Hummer that whined about going off-road and getting dirt in its wheel wells. Classic.
And even more classic was the “Welcome to Emeryville” sign they snuck in there. Since that’s where Pixar is located. If I didn’t work here, I’d definitely work for Pixar.
Our date nights have become my favorite day of the week. I love knowing for sure that we’ll be spending a few hours together doing the same thing. It’s a nice feeling to have him there with me. Sometimes I feel like I’m actually cuddled up in his arms instead of in my pillows. And that’s an amazing feeling [only 32 more days until I fly out to him again]. I know it may sound odd, but it’s nice. I’ve said it before but its true. I can’t wait to see what’s on the tap for this week.
Random cuteness: I want this dog, even though I know it’ll grow up to be HUGE and the bf doesn’t want a big dog…and it seems like I may have to do some fast talking to convince him on a medium-sized dog. The best part of him is his stub tail and that floppy, breezy ear. Oh my goodness he’s soooo cute! Thanks Lindsey for introducing me to yet another website to coo over. Now this is what the Internet was invented for. Thanks Al Gore.
that is such a cute dog. it’s so mixed
but i had an aussie and i loved him, the stubby tail just made him extra cute, even though he was pretty huge and could topple you over when he jumped on you.
That’s a totally adorable dog. He doesn’t seem so much future huge to me as extremely furry (aka ‘goddamn, your dogs shreds EVERYWHERE’). Then again, my uncle owns and breeds Rhodesian ridgebacks. Those things are just frickin’ massive!! They’re sweet as hell, but let one lie down on your lap and you won’t be able to get up at all.
