I ain’t gotta jump. I’m Ben Wallace…BITCH!

Whoa, what an interesting weekend. I actually really enjoyed myself. It went by too quickly but even with all my powers, I still can’t figure out a way to slow down time. Boo-urns.

I got the weekend roaring with a trip to a Warriors game. Yes, that’s right. I went to a pro basketball game. It’s been a long time coming. The last time I went to a Warriors game, Muggsy Bogues was playing for them…and that was 10 years ago. For a moment I thought I had stepped into some weird time warp, you know, the team still kinda sucks and Don Nelson is still coaching [though I had to check and he wasn’t coaching when Bogues was playing but whatever].

I met Pat at the Coliseum BART station and we headed across the freeway to In-N-Out to meet up with Roland and Thi to grab a quick bite and then head to the game. We were late and Roland blamed Pat who quickly blamed me. Ro and Thi had season tickets and we were using someone else’s tickets so Pat and I sat a few rows behind them for most of the game. But we had a lot of fun. We were basically distracted by everything except the game [even Anna Nicole came up in conversation]. I could barely name 2 people on the Warriors [I knew of Stephen “I like to shoot at cars that try to run me over at the strip club” Jackson and I wasn’t even sure if Baron Davis was still on the team and I only knew of Ben Wallace because I heart Ben Wallace’s hair on the Bulls..

I was a little disheartened because I used to be able to name EVERYONE and their mom once upon a time. I used to watch the NBA Draft and analyze it with Amalia. Those were the days. That was also during the MLB strike and then the year after since I wasn’t yet ready to return and I needed something to occupy my time. But I digress, even with our limited basketball knowledge [tell me why I was more excited to see Chris Duhan because I remembered watching him play for Duke] we still had tons of fun cracking jokes and being dumb. We tried to figure out who #50 on the Bulls was [it was Michael Sweetney…we checked on Pat’s phone] and then who #12 was since he was making tons of shots. We tried looking through the roster but on Pat’s phone they don’t list jersey numbers so it was either click on everyone’s name or try to be selective. Pat picked some power forward but I knew he was too small to be a forward, let alone power forward so I told him to click on one of the guards. He argued and who turned out to be right? Yep. Me. Naturally.
